Human Resources Officer- Bracknell

We have a vacancy in our busy HR Shared Services team for an HR Officer based at our Head office in Bracknell. This role is home and office based on a rota (1-2 days home based). (First 6 months office based for training)

About the role …

Our HR Officers are the first point of contact for all HR related and payroll enquiries across our UK and Ireland business units and stores.

Working as a subject matter expert you will provide first line support for all employees across all functions, advising on employment law, collective agreements, HR procedures and first line payroll issues. Also providing a high quality administrative support in various HR domains.

On top of this you will be joining, the team at the start of several exciting projects, which will see our new systems, launch and streamline the way that the business works. Giving the right candidate a real opportunity to take the lead of parts of the project giving them a real chance to make their own mark instantly within the department.

Key Responsibilities …

Core principles:

First line support for all Employee Relations and case management utilising employment law knowledge

Assist all employees and managers on a daily basis with all enquiries and HR procedures and payroll.

Be and act as subject matter expert for our internal clients (all areas) and the HR BP/ HR SS Manager on employee’s questions, issues (day-to-day relations)

Follow and maintain HR policies and procedures. Ensuring they are kept up to date with UK and ROI legislation.

Administration and Customer Service:

Providing a first class customer service and managing customer relationships across all business units and stores,

Keeping all HR Trackers, weekly reports and organisation charts up to date,

Assisting with the development of internal processes and procedures and providing input to ensure optimal HR service in response levels to the organisation.

Co-ordinating the documentation of all End of Year, Mid-Year and appraisal documents to meet compliance, ensuring that all SOX compliance is met and able to support the HR BP/ HR SSM with their SOX responsibility.

Delivery of KPI’s to the HR Business Partners/HR Shared Service Manager and outwardly to the business when required

Employee life cycles:

All administration for contracts and offers of employment, warning letters, role changes, merit increases, coordination of benefits in kind through the correct documents and processes before on boarding of employees.

Processing/ administration of employees starting/leaving, Long service awards.

Induction/on boarding of new employees on starting day, maintaining the employee files and data entry in the HR management & T&A tool, keeping legal aspects up to date (work permits, internal rules, policies etc.)

About you …

Ideally qualified to Level 5 CIPD

Strong HR experience, preferably as an HR officer

Significant operational experience in ER

Knowledge of UK employment law

Payroll knowledge and experience of processing payroll but not essential

Cross country function working

Able to think outside of the box to be able to overcome unplanned situations whilst ensuring you keep to company and local legislation guidelines

You understand HR, Payroll and Finance and their inter-dependency

A strong team player who can also work independently, take initiative, has a good sense of ownership and an efficient, result-oriented & hands-on approach

Demonstrate strong abilities to analyse and report on areas of responsibilities
